Living alone is a negative for seniors.
Many seniors are reluctant to give up their independence in favor of retirement or an assisted living facility. An social life keeps people cognitively stronger, slowing the rate at which memory fails, researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health, reported this past July in the American Journal of Public Health. In addition, safety may be an issue, that the senior is in denial of.
